Liquid handling within biosafety cabinets
These are absolutely the best pipettes in the world. I run a tissue culture core facility, and so often travel to client investigators' labs to perform benchwork for them. Thus, I have tried many brands of pipette. Gilson, Eppendorf, BioHit, GeneMate, Brandtech, Labnet, Rainin, and Fisherbrand. But the Socorex Acura XS 826 series are by far the best pipettes I have ever used. They have the softest pipetting force needed, they eject tips cleanly, they don't change their volume setting unintentionally, they are fully disinfectable, and they have a adjustable barrel. That last point is absolutely essential for me, as I often have to take my pipettes into a colleague's hood and use their tips. And they stay accurate for a very long time. I bought a set in 2012 for use inside my biosafety cabinet and was so pleased with them, I decided to replace my benchside pipettes as well and bought a second set last year. Worth every penny.
