Very user-friendly without being overly restrictive. I love that the price is very reasonable at the trade-off of selecting the wavelengths you want. I've been able to train undergraduate students in its use without issue and I will be using it in an upper-level lab course this semester. Well-built piece of equipment and lean software.

The unit was very intuitive to use, and the user manual made setup very simple. The hardest part about the setup was recognizing how to set up iterating samples, but once you get the hang of it, it is incredibly SIMPLE. The unit is the size of a large phone, and readings are incredibly fast and accurate, based on the calibration samples we had. The customer service was also wonderful.

I had the opportunity to use Absorbance 96 for various applications, such as antibodies and protein quantification on homemade ELISAs and cytokines detection with commercial kits. I was impressed by the machine and software, which were super easy to use, and the design, which was modern and miniaturized. The Byonoy team has done a great job in creating such a user-friendly and innovative device. I also want to mention that I compared the results from Absorbance 96 with those from BioRad reader, and I found a high concordance of more than 98% without compromising robustness. This shows that Absorbance 96 is reliable and accurate, and I am 100% satisfied with the machine and the results.

This is easy to use in the anaerobic chamber and easy to clean. It is good for real time absorbance measurement for observing the growth curves while it's running. We can do kinetics measurements at small time intervals. Cons: We can't run this while it's shaking as the graph shows noise. Also, light is interfering for the absorbance.

I used this plate reader for quantification of carbohydrates in pitcher fluid from carnivorous plants, over the span of three months from a field lab in the tropics. This plate reader was a pleasure to use and it provided publication quality data right from the convenience of our field lab, without having to store and transport sensitive samples. It is small and light enough to be practical to carry in a bag with other field equipment, it runs smoothly powered by a laptop without much impact on the battery life, and it gives reliable data over months of repeated use in a harsh field environment. The accompanying software (downloaded as an app), is straightforward to use and works well. It has options for endpoint and kinetic methods, quantitative and qualitative evaluation of data, and it calculates a standard curve and things, making reading the plate and analyzing the data a breeze. I did have two minor critiques: 1) It would be nice for .csv exports to include fitted standard curve information calculated by the software, and 2) .csv exports include the plate layout information, but it would be nice if they also included the header from the plate setup page. Overall, with several wavelengths to choose from, the overall reliability, portability and ease of use, I would widely recommend this spectrophotometer for field and teaching labs. Truly five stars, great quality.

We have the Absorbance 96 in addition to our standard microplate reader. For many applications, the much more compact Absorbance 96 device is much easier and more convenient to use. We primarily used the device to measure the optical density of a culture in a fermentation process and obtained reliable results. However, the system is also capable of performing simple colorimetric tests, which we have also applied it for. I would say that the system is well-suited for many applications and can serve as a cost-effective and simple alternative to a standard microplate reader.
