Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. today announced the new Thermo Scientific BindIt 3.1 software for use with all Thermo Scientific KingFisher magnetic particle processor instruments. The flexible and easy-to-use software enables the users to create new purification protocols or modify existing ones. BindIt™ 3.1 software provides a complete, fully-automated solution with the highest possible throughput, enabling the KingFisher® Flex to interface with liquid handling and plate stacking instruments as well as robotics.

With ready-made and validated purification protocols available, BindIt 3.1 software lets users choose the best method for a sample process. Once created, custom protocols can be stored in a PC database and transferred to the KingFisher instrument memory for stand-alone operation or run directly from the PC. All steps in the process have modifiable, defined parameters, and users can generate a status report to maintain quality control. This can include data on the run log, plate layout and step parameters.

The Thermo Scientific KingFisher instrumentation facilitates magnetic-based particle processing for DNA, RNA, proteins and cell purification from virtually any source. To upgrade previous software to BindIt 3.1 free-of-charge, please visit the Company article page link top right of this page.

Thermo Fisher Scientific

Thermo Scientific BindIt™ Software has been developed for easy and versatile protocol creation for the KingFisher, KingFisher ML, KingFisher Flex and KingFisher 96 instruments. BindIt Software is highly visual and logical and has been planned for maximum user-friendliness. BindIt Software is designed to allow you to develop custom-made protocols for your own applications and run them in the KingFisher instruments. Protocols are created and stored in a database on the PC using BindIt Software. Once a protocol has been created, you can either transfer the protocol to the KingFisher instrument memory or execute the protocol directly from the software. Protocols run directly from the software are not stored in the instrument memory. The BindIt protocol is based on a step list. The step parameters for the active step are shown on the screen. All steps have default parameters which can be changed according to the demands of the application. The plates and the reagents used are defined in the plate layout. Due to an increased QC demand, BindIt Software enables the user to generate a status report including the run log, plate layout and step parameters. BindIt Software also enables the KingFisher Flex or KingFisher 96 to interface with liquid handling, robotics and plate stacking instruments, providing a fully automated solution and the highest possible throughput.
