Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, is pleased to announce the Thermo Scientific ABgene™ 384-well PCR Plate for ABI 3730 (ref AB-1384) as its “Plate of the Month” for June 2009. The Plate of the Month initiative celebrates entry into the second century of man-made plastics by providing scientists with valuable ways to trial ABgene plates.

The ABgene 384-well PCR Plate has been designed for high-throughput PCR and sequencing applications making it fully compatible with all major platforms. The full skirt makes this plate ideal for use with robotics and liquid handling systems. Each well has a thin walled design for optimal and consistent heat transfer and a raised rim for superior sealing with adhesive or heat seals while alphanumeric grid referencing makes well identification easy for any throughput. The ABgene 384-well PCR plate is also available with optional bar coding and in opaque white for QPCR applications.

The market leading ABgene range combines precision design, high quality materials and clean room production to ensure reliable and reproducible, premium products that give you confidence in your results. Like all ABgene PCR plastic consumables, the ABgene 384-well PCR Plate is manufactured from non-porous virgin (medical grade) polypropylene and is extensively quality tested to ensure a plate of the highest quality, certified free from DNase, RNase and endotoxin contamination.

Thermo Fisher Scientific has 10 cases (25 plates in each) of these 384-well PCR plates to give away in June. This offer is on a first come, first served basis and is subject to availability. ABgene 384-well Storage Plates

Thermo Fisher Scientific

Thermo Scientific ABgene 384-well Deep Well Plates are manufactured and in a class 100,000 clean room environment to ensure that each plate is contamination free. Plates are made using virgin medical grade polypropylene and have highly polished surfaces making them low binding and chemically resistant. Rigid side walls and industry standard footprint make plates suitable for automation and robotic handling, as well as for low throughput applications. Features Deep, square well format for high-density storage. Conical-bottom well design for complete sample retrieval. Discrete raised rim around each well for improved sealing and reduced the risk of sample cross-contamination. Additional sealing rim around perimeter to protect outer wells from evaporation. Suitable for use with DMSO. Alphanumeric grid-referencing. Designed according to SBS footprint standards for robotic compatibility. Wide working temperature range from -196°C to +121°C. Can be barcoded for improved sample tracking. Manufactured from virgin medical grade polypropylene and certified RNase, DNase and endotoxin free.
