The MicroStar Micromanipulator is the brand new member of the Scientifica family. The MicroStar is ideal when space is at a premium and you need several manipulators around your sample, and based on the high engineering principles that made the PatchStar manipulator so successful.

The MicroStar is only 33mm wide, giving you the opportunity to arrange up to 8 MicroStars around your sample. It offers 4 axes of motorised motion, X Y Z and ‘Approach’. MicroStars can be mounted next to both upright and inverted microscopes and suits many experimental types

As with all of our Manipulators, the MicroStar is low noise, ultra stable with smooth movement and can be accurately controlled.

MicroStar Micromanipulator

Scientifica Ltd

Based on the same solid engineering principles as our class leading PatchStar micromanipulators, the MicroStar enables the researcher to arrange up to eight electrodes around a sample. This makes it especially ideal for neuroscientists studying synaptic connectivity and networks but also for a wider range of applications where space around tissue samples is at a premium. Our real achievement in the design of this product is the impressive travel achieved despite the compact dimensions. The MicroStar, offering four axes of motorised motion in X, Y, Z and virtual ‘Approach’ dimensions, can be mounted next to both upright and inverted microscopes. Designed to be operated in multiples around a single sample chamber, MicroS tars can be easily multiplexed to the control hardware for simple, intuitive operation and customisation. The ultra-low noise of the device means that small electrophysiological signals may be detected and its stability allows work with small cells over long experiments to be undertaken. The super smooth motion allows for probe positioning onto delicate cells and the fast pipette exchange system saves you time.
