IONICON Analytik, the Austrian based leading manufacturer of PTR-MS real-time trace gas VOC analyzers, complements its successful PTR-TOFMS series with an affordable compact instrument that is the smallest, lightest and fastest system ever constructed by its engineers. The PTR-TOF 1000 has already been successfully deployed on NASA flight measurement campaigns.

Since 2007 when IONICON first launched a high-resolution PTR-TOFMS instrument (PTR-TOF 8000), the company had tremendous success with its PTR-TOFMS series, selling more than 50 units to leading scientists, institutions and multinational corporations.

Continuous innovation and engineering has now culminated in the new PTR-TOF 1000, by far the most affordable, smallest and most lightweight system available on the market.

Extensive testing

Prototypes of the PTR-TOF 1000 have been extensively tested by leading scientists in the field. Among other missions, a system modified for use on aircraft was deployed by a team of the University of Innsbruck’s Institute for Ion and Applied Physics on NASA atmospheric research aircrafts for measuring air pollution in the atmosphere.

The instrument demonstrated its reliability and robustness but also its remarkable technical abilities and speed during various international campaigns and is ideally suited for analysis of VOCs at a very high time resolution.

Powerful time of flight based solutions

The PTR-TOF 1000 is an IONICON PTR-TOFMS instrument with dimensions, weight and price usually restricted to high-end quadrupole PTR-MS, but having all the advantages of the more powerful time of flight based solutions: the entire mass range in split-seconds and higher resolution for better separation and identification.

Mass SpectrometryMass spectrometry (MS) is a powerful analytical technique used to identify and quantify molecules based on the mass-to-charge ratio of gas-phase ions. It provides detailed information about the structure, composition, and properties of compounds and is widely used across fields such as environmental monitoring, materials science, drug discovery and development, food and beverage testing, and wider chemical research. Key MS techniques include tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS), liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LS-MS) and inductively coupled plasma (ICP-MS). Choosing from these wide range of techniques and technologies can be a daunting task, so keep up to date with scientific applications, performance expectations, and customer reviews here all in one place. Environmental Monitoring and TestingEnvironmental monitoring and testing uses handheld portable analyzers, kits, spectrometers or chromatography systems for air, water, soil, food and other sample testing. Useful features of analyzers such as BOD and COD include portability, easy calibration, automation and sensitivity.  Environmental test kits for pH, water, moisture, etc, should be accurate, sensitive, reliable, fast and easy to use.PittconPittcon is one of the largest conferences and exhibitions dedicated to laboratory science.
