DynamicOrgan® Load&Seal Kit
Preserving tissue architecture while controlling experimental conditions is an important consideration in biomedical research. With its new DynamicOrgan® Load&Seal Kit, organ-on-chip specialist Dynamic42 enables researchers to introduce tissue slices directly into its two-channel biochip and study them under flow.
The format also accommodates solid drug depots and biomaterials. Available in Europe and the United States, the Kit will be on display at Dynamic42’s booth (C04) during ELRIG Drug Discovery 2026, London, UK on October 14–15.
The DynamicOrgan® platform supports perfused models of the intestine, lung, liver and other tissues, including models incorporating immune cells. Used in disease research and preclinical drug evaluation, these systems allow researchers to investigate biological responses within defined tissue environments.
Tissue slices preserve aspects of the original architecture, including interactions between different cell types and the surrounding matrix. However, their integration into closed chips is constrained by narrow fluidic ports.
The Load&Seal biochip provides direct access to the culture chamber during setup, allowing researchers to combine intact tissue samples with controlled perfusion within the DynamicOrgan platform.
From a customer requirement to a broader research tool
The development began with a customer seeking to incorporate a solid drug depot into a Dynamic42 biochip to study it under flow. The team in Jena, Thuringia, adapted its existing two-channel design to allow direct placement of the material. The resulting open-top format is now available as a kit for other laboratories.
“Our customers bring us specific research questions and practical challenges,” says Anne-Katrin Dietsch, Product Manager for Biochips at Dynamic42. “As a small flexible team, we can work directly with them to adapt our technology. Load&Seal grew out of one such collaboration and now extends the experimental options available to other users of our platform.”
Direct access with controlled perfusion
Researchers place samples into the open top channel, seal it with the supplied bonding foil and connect the biochip to a perfusion pump. The two channels are separated by a porous membrane and can be perfused at different flow rates to suit the experiment. Its PDMS-free design helps limit drug adsorption during compound exposure and release studies.
The Load&Seal Kit comes in several pack sizes with a choice of membrane pore sizes. For laboratories that also need a pump, the DynamicOrgan Load&Seal System includes one.
Dynamic42 is also developing applications in explant culture for cancer and other biomedical research areas. This application combines existing tissue architecture with flow, resulting in a more stable, physiologically relevant culture environment. The result is continuous nutrient and oxygen supply, and removal of metabolic waste products extending cultivation and experimental timeframes.
Such approaches can support the development of human-relevant methods that, following application-specific validation, may complement or replace selected animal experiments.

Frequently asked questions
Show frequently asked questions
What is the Dynamic42 DynamicOrgan Load&Seal Kit?
The DynamicOrgan® Load&Seal Kit is an open-top, two-channel biochip that lets researchers place tissue slices, solid drug depots and biomaterials directly into a culture chamber. After sealing the channel with bonding foil, researchers can connect the biochip to a perfusion pump and study samples under controlled flow.
How does the DynamicOrgan Load&Seal biochip support tissue-based drug research?
The Load&Seal biochip preserves intact tissue architecture while providing controlled perfusion. Its channels are separated by a porous membrane and can run at different flow rates. Continuous nutrient and oxygen delivery, along with metabolic waste removal, can extend cultivation and experimental timeframes. Its PDMS-free design also helps limit drug adsorption.
Where will Dynamic42 present the Load&Seal Kit at ELRIG Drug Discovery 2026?
Dynamic42 will display the DynamicOrgan Load&Seal Kit at booth C04 during ELRIG Drug Discovery 2026 in London, UK, on October 14–15. The kit is available in Europe and the United States in several pack sizes, with a choice of membrane pore sizes.
