Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics has enhanced its DCA Vantage™ Analyser for diabetes management with Version 3.0 software. The system can now provide enhanced operator management and connectivity capabilities to meet the growing demands in Point of Care (POC) testing for improved compliance management, and data capture into patient records. It also has the capacity to manage a larger number of operators at the same time as providing security levels to prevent unauthorised access.

A further enhancement is that it is one of the first HbA1c POC analysers in the industry to include the POCT1-A2 communication protocol. Use of this standard interface simplifies the connection to POC data management systems, enabling results to be automatically transmitted to electronic patient records, Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), Siemens RAPIDComm® Data Management System, or other data managers.

“The DCA Vantage Analyser with Version 3.0 software enables Point of Care managers to meet the increasing connectivity and data management demands placed upon them,” states Catherine Spurgeon, Product Manager for Urinalysis at Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics. “The new features are particularly important to drive control over testing conducted at remote sites with multiple operators and devices.”
