Product news

Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. has launched its QX700™ System-compatible Vericheck ddPCR™ Kit portfolio to support critical quality control (QC) workflows in advanced cell and gene therapy development and other biopharma applications.

The new Vericheck ddPCR Kits are designed for highly specific and highly sensitive DNA detection and quantification, enabling biopharmaceutical developers and manufacturers to improve product safety, quality, and development timelines.

New Vericheck ddPCR Kits for key biopharma QC applications

The Vericheck ddPCR Kit portfolio extends Bio-Rad’s existing droplet digital PCR (ddPCR) platform with ready-to-use, application-focused, validated kits tailored to high-priority QC workflows in biopharma, including cell and gene therapy.

The portfolio includes:

  • Vericheck ddPCR Mycoplasma Detection Kit
  • Vericheck ddPCR Empty-Full Capsid Kit
  • Vericheck ddPCR Replication Competent Lentivirus Kit
  • Vericheck ddPCR CHO Residual DNA Quantification Kit
  • Vericheck ddPCR E. coli Residual DNA Quantification Kit

These kits are intended to support critical QC testing needs such as contamination monitoring, vector characterization, replication-competent virus testing, and residual host cell DNA quantification.

QX700 System performance and workflow scalability

Bio-Rad’s QX700 platform provides seven-color multiplexing and the capacity to process up to 384 reactions in around two and a half hours. The system is designed for minimal input volume, continuous loading capability, and easy-to-use software to streamline data interpretation.

By combining the performance of the QX700 Systems with the Vericheck ddPCR Kits, researchers and biopharma manufacturers can generate precise, reproducible, and faster results to support product development, product safety, and product quality.

Supporting advanced therapeutic development and manufacturing

In advanced therapeutic development and manufacturing, QC testing is essential to ensure the safety and effectiveness of cell and gene therapy products and other biologics. The Vericheck ddPCR Kits provide validated workflows that help improve confidence in:

  • Vector characterization, including empty-full capsid analysis
  • Contamination detection, including mycoplasma
  • Replication-competent virus testing, such as replication competent lentivirus
  • Residual host cell DNA quantification from CHO and E. coli production systems

By offering a complete and accessible solution for these high-priority QC testing needs, the Vericheck ddPCR Kits are designed to help biopharma developers meet regulatory expectations and maintain consistent product quality.

“The expansion of our range of Vericheck ddPCR Kits offers validated workflows with unmatched precision and sensitivity, combined with the power of the QX700 platform, enabling scalable, streamlined workflows and faster time to actionable results,” said Stephen Kulisch, Vice President of Marketing, Digital Biology Group, Bio-Rad.

“By expanding the power of our QX700 platform through the development of this new portfolio of Vericheck Kits, Bio-Rad is continuing its commitment to support development of safer and more efficient advanced therapeutic development and manufacturing.”
