Implementing CIMS for Process Operations: Goal Is to Integrate Analytical Capabilities with Bioreactor or Fermentor Control Software

12 Mar 2014

Comprehensive information management systems (CIMS) help bioprocessing professionals to manage increasingly large data sets about mammalian cell cultivation and microbial fermentation processes. This article describes how Dasgip’s information-management system, DASware, has aided the work of scientist at Lonza and Gevo. The system is designed to allow interconnectivity among bioreactors and external lab devices, with comprehensive data and information management, factorial design of experiments, and remote control of bioprocesses.
