Description
RNA Polymerase II (RNA pol II) is an important component of the RNA pol II transcription elongation complex which is essential for mRNA synthesis in eukaryotes. Phosphorylation of the Ser2 and Ser5 residues on RNA pol II results in the recruitment of other RNA processing factors to the RNA pol II transcription elongation complex.
