1108-1 Recognizes a 55-50 kDa polypeptide associated with the early antigen of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). p55 Has been shown to be a phosphoprotein and p55-50 has strong DNA-binding activity preferentially to single-stranded DNA. Epstein-Barr virus is the causitive agent of infectious mononucleosis and is associated with two human neoplasms, Burkitt's lymphoma and nasopharyngeal carcinoma
