Genetically engineered mice can mimic human cancer mutations, allowing researchers to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer initiation and progression. Dr. Brian Soper from The Jackson Laboratory explores Onco-Hu^® models, a robust immuno-oncology platform for efficacy testing of novel immunotherapies targeting T cells and myeloid cells. The platform is based on NSG™ and NSG™-SGM3 transgenic mice, dually engrafted with human CD34+ hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and clinically relevant PDX Live™ low passage tumors.
