7. Video: Waters REIMS™ Research System with iKnife™ Technology Advances Food Fraud Testing

The Rapid Evaporative Ionization Mass Spectrometry™ (REIMS™) Research System with iKnife™ Sampling combines direct-from-sample ionization with high performance time-of-flight mass spectrometry and powerful, intuitive analytics. The system eliminates the need for sample preparation and chromatographic separation, providing food, microbiology and tissue researchers with near-instantaneous data acquisition. Watch now

8. Product news: Phenomenex Enhances Kinetex Core-Shell Family with pH 1-12 Stable 2.6µm and 1.7µm EVO C18 Columns

The Kinetex EVO C18 columns provide a unique C18 selectivity, offering excellent peak shape for bases, 100% aqueous stability and rugged pH stability from 1 to 12 by incorporating a patented organo-silica grafting process that utilizes uniform stabilizing ethane cross-linking. The new, smaller particle sizes extend the versatility and scalability of this media, introduced initially in 5µm particles for HPLC and preparative HPLC work. Read more

9. Application note: Enhanced Separation and Identification of Fungicides in Wine by Headspace SPME–GC×GC–TOF MS

This application note describes how the enhanced separation offered by GC×GC can be coupled with the exceptionally sensitive BenchTOF-HD mass spectrometer to enable the screening of wine for trace-level fungicides, as well as compounds giving rise to organoleptic faults. Trace levels of fungicides are difficult to detect using conventional quadrupole GC–MS, without resorting to selected ion monitoring mode. Download here

10. Application note: Screening and Verifying Mycotoxins in Food with Q-TOF LCMS and an Accurate Mass Library

This application note describes the creation of an accurate mass library for mycotoxins and related metabolites and its application for the screening of mycotoxins in food. An Agilent 1290 Infinity LC coupled to an Agilent 6550 iFunnel Q-TOF LC/MS was operated in positive and negative electrospray with dual-spray Agilent Jet Stream Technology. Accurate mass spectra were acquired for a large collection of mycotoxins and related metabolites in one or both ionization modes and for all relevant ion species. Download here
