easyH20 Chemical-free Water Determination
Berghof Products + Instruments GmbHeasyH20 Chemical-free Water Determination. The Berghof easyH2O combines thermal evaporation of water with a selective, electrochemical water sensor to a new and innovative method of water analysis. Unlike the gravimetric moisture-measuring techniques, the result is not disturbed by substances which evaporate out of the sample together with the water. It therefore delivers reproducible, accurate results and facilitates separate identification of free surface and capillary water as well as bonded water. The water is evaporated out of the sample in a programmable oven and is fed to the sensor by a carrier gas. The coulometric sensor based on hygroscopic phosphorous pentoxide absorbs the water. The water is electrolysed immediately and the required electrical charge is proportional to the quantity of water which is determined. Thus the sensor regenerates itself and is always ready to use. Operation is extremely simple. No special or toxic chemicals are required to operate the system. The operator profits by reduced operating and disposal costs as well as reduced blank value input regarding chemicals.

Highpreactor High Pressure Reactors
Berghof Products + Instruments GmbHHighpreactor – Overcome Limits - High Pressure Reactors, Customized Reactors and Test Autoclaves. Berghof reactors in volumes from 25 ml to 4 liters offer a completely modular design and are specially configured for manifold application. The unique features of all Berghof reactors are their thick-walled PTFE inserts and PTFE linings for use with corrosive media. These make them an economical alternative to reactors made of special alloys (e.g., Hastelloy). Naturally, all Berghof reactors and all fittings are also available as pure stainless steel reactors or in special alloys. Further, the user can easily remove and reinstall all fittings by hand, e.g., for cleaning. A variety of stirring as well as heating techniques are also offered. Customized Reactors and Test Autoclaves. We offer special test autoclaves to examine the aging behavior of a wide variety of materials when subjected to the influence of chemicals, temperature, and pressure. This allows examination of the durability or chemical resistance of new materials, particularly those used in automobile manufacturing and in the aerospace industry. Beyond this, we develop, design, and build reaction equipment (e.g. extraction equipment, synthesis devices) according to customer specifications. One of Berghof's specialities in this regard are reactors and equipment made entirely of fluorpolymers. These are specifically designed for use under extremely corrosive conditions such as those found during synthesis processes employing HF gas.

Speedwave® four Microwave Digestion Systems
Berghof Products + Instruments GmbHBerghof 'speedwave® four' microwave digestion system - uncomplicated and straight forward digestions. Speedwave makes laboratory work easier and safer. Very easy handling thanks to the top loading concept. The entire, heavy rotor no longer needs to be lifted and placed in the microwave oven. It remains in the oven chamber and the vessels are simply inserted individually and removed again after digestion. The heated vessels can be removed immediately after the digestion. The sample throughput rate is significantly raised because the cooling down phase is omitted. All of the digestion vessels consist of only a few individual parts and are correspondingly fast and easy to close or open. It is handled manually without any special tools. Optimal safety because of contactless temperature and pressure measurement. The contactless sensor technology simplifies working with the system and reduces operating costs. It is no longer necessary to perform measurements in a reference vessel. There is no need for sensor connections. Dip tubes are no longer needed to be mounted, sealed and cleaned. The speedwave® DIRC thermometer for contactless measurements measures the temperature of every single sample solution directly. There is no time delay owing to heat up the vessel walls or sensors. The equally contact-free, optical pressure control captures all of the internal pressures of each vessel. It is not necessary to take measurements in a reference vessel. The microwave output is controlled via the specified temperature profile. This combination of temperature and pressure control enables ideal process control and ensures optimal safety. Low operating costs since Berghof uses only pressure vessels made from TFMTM-PTFE. The vessel and lid are corrosion and pressure-resistant and produced entirely from this material. A pressure jacket and/or lid made from a different plastic material which is partly microwave-transparent and not resistant to acid (e.g. PEEK) is not necessary. The material used guarantees the vessels a service life of at least 3-5 years. Hence the vessels are no longer regarded as consumables and are therefore logically included in the instruments warranty. The 'speedwave® four' significantly reduces the operating costs for microwave pressure digestion.
