Planetary geology - comet dust analysis
I only had the opportunity to use the instrument once, but this instrument has the potential to revolutionize the study of comet dust and other extremely fine-grained substances. It makes it easier to quickly locate, quantify and identify the mineralogy of particles with minimal sample manipulation, which is vital in the study of extraterrestrial samples.
