Practical and easy to use.

Average Rating 4.7

Application Area:

Brain function measurement

I have used the OxyFlo system to measure brain flow changes in awake head-fixed mice during spontaneous behaviour. The probes are easy to use and the results have a straightforward interpretation, which simplifies experiments greatly. Results are better in the cortex surface than in deeper areas because the thickness of the probe makes it difficult to introduce it inside the brain. Overall I found it useful to confirm other results.

Very satisfactory.

Application Area:

Measurement of blood flow in the MCA before and after stroke

Very easy to use, with reproducible values. Requires walls stabilization measures thanks to a drop of paraffin oil on the end of the optical fiber. Very instinctive to use. You absolutely need an acquisition box to record the values on the computer. Very good investment.

Application Area:

Vessel detection in a robotic steerable needle system

The monitor is really easy to use and robust. The data can be logged into a third party data logger without any problem. The repeatability of the instrument is also very good. My work is in robotic needle steering, and the use of laser Doppler flowmetry in this area of research is new. The team from Oxford Optronix is really helpful helping me to use the instrument specifically in my application.
