Don't be fooled by the claimed ease and effectiveness of use. The basic protocol was insufficient for improving 260/230 quality of genomic DNA. Many extra steps were recommended which was unfortunately came too late for our experiment.

Amplification of a large DNA region using genomic DNA as a template
I used this kit to clean up genomic DNA from mouse tails that I'd extracted using a crude lysis method. I found, to my shock, that I lost nearly all of the DNA when I used the kit! However... The instructions mentioned that yield can be improved by heating the elution buffer to 70 degrees Celsius, so I did that and also incubated the whole column with elution buffer in a heating block for about 5 minutes. That massively improved the yield. I'd go so far as to say that this is an absolutely essential step, because I literally lost over 90% of the DNA when I tried using room temperature elution buffer.

This product is very easy to use. Except for 100% pure ethanol and a few sterile EP tubes, you don't need to prepare anything else. The entire process will be completed in 15-20 minutes on average with 10 samples for a beginner. The quality of recovered DNA is very pure. I strongly recommend this product.

Epigentics
We do the RNAase digests for purified DNA. To remove the enzyme and buffer components, we used to redo the isolation with a Qiagen DNA extraction kit. The cost was very high and then I found the genome concentrator from Zymo. It is really easy to use and saves lots of time. The efficiency is also very high and reaches 70-80% when your samples have more DNA.

The Genomic DNA Clean & Concentrator™ (DCC™) is for the quick (5 minute) recovery of ultra-pure, large-sized DNA (e.g., genomic, mitochondrial, plasmid (BAC/PAC), viral, phage, (wga) DNA, etc.) from any enzymatic reaction or impure preparation (e.g., Proteinase K digestion).
There is no need for organic denaturants, chloroform, or messy precipitations: simply add the specially formulated ChIP DNA Binding Buffer to a sample and then transfer the mixture to the supplied Zymo-Spin™ Column. Eluted DNA is suitable for sequencing, PCR, endonuclease digestion, and other enzymatic procedures.
The product is also compatible with smaller DNAs (50 bp to 10 kb) from PCR, digestions, crude plasmid preparations, cDNA synthesis, etc.
