Increase the overall efficiency and throughput of our Laboratory
Analyze VOCs on Waste and Drinking Water
The Teledyne Tekmar AtomX XYZ surpassed my expectations and greatly improved our Efficiency due to automated collection of VOCs from Various samples especially on waste water and Drinking water. We can now run Overnight samples without worries and be alerted by the machine thru email in case of issues with the run.

Good instrument but could use greater integration.
Drinking Water VOCs
Instrument is easy enough to use. Scheduler is straightforward and intuitive. Since Tekmar and Agilent have such a close relationship, it would be nice to see integration into the Agilent software.

Easy to use and Cost Savings!
VOC, EPA 624.1
We achieved very high quality and reproducible results using the Atomx. The purge and trap is very easy to use. There is very little maintenance required on this unit. My rating for ease of use is based on the Teklink software. The 1-800 Tech support is very helpful and can solve nearly all problems over the phone. The producibility of this unit makes this a great value for the money.

Great result, need to increase durability.
Environmental sample such as water and soil
The interface is simple to operate, easy to use. The experimental results are also satisfactory. Some parts are fragile, hope to increase durability.

Great service and easy to use product
Environmental sample analysis
I hadn't used any Tekmar equipment since the old Tekmar 3000 purge and trap. The atomyx XYZ is a huge step up from that previous product. The ease of use is much better than the equipment we currently are using from OI analytical. The service has been a major plus since we have had some issues due to our unfamiliarity with the product. We look forward to changing over to buy more of these in the coming years.

Environmental Lab Workhorse!
Environmental analysis of water
We use this system every day in our lab. It's truly a workhorse! Teledyne Tekmar knows how to make a quality product that lasts. It is easy to use and extremely reliable for day-to-day work. The maintenance for this system is also minimal and easy to accomplish with the instructions provided. The one thing that I would say that needs a bit more improvement is the software that is associated with it. There are a few quirks when it comes to scheduling. I think that there could be ways to improve this part of the software to make it a little more user-friendly.

Overall, i think Atomx XYZ is pretty good and will get better
Environmental SVOC and VOC
I think Atomx XYZ is a wonderful product for environmental SVOC and VOC applications. Greatly saves the time and cost of analysis and easy to use. My favorite part is new MCS design and park valve station, what i like least is the Hamilton 7-port valve.

Tekmar's Atomx Automated Sample Prep System combines an Autosampler and Purge and Trap into a single instrument for the analysis of VOCs in soils and waters. This is the first of its kind and only system that employs a unique methanol extraction automation feature for high level soils in accordance with USEPA Method 5035.
Extractasol clean-up step (patent pending) in the Atomx reduces carryover or cross contamination normally associated with high-level water or soil analysis. Three new independent injection systems for internal standards, surrogates, and matrix spikes provide the ability to select variable volumes without generating waste.
The Atomx features Tekmar’s proven carousel drive capable of holding 80-vials for optimal throughput therefore reducing downtime. While priced competitively, this system offers unique features that cannot be found on other sample prep systems on the market today.
Analysis of volatile organic compounds in drinking water according to US EPA Method 524.4
In this application note, Thermo Fisher Scientific demonstrates an analytical method that meets the requirements outlined in US EPA Method 524.4 for the quantitation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in drinking water, using the Teledyne Tekmar Atomx XYZ purge and trap (P&T) system along with a Thermo Scientific™ ISQ™ 7610 Single Quadrupole MS system coupled with a Thermo Scientific™ TRACE™ 1610 Gas Chromatograph (GC) and Thermo Scientific™ Chromeleon™ Chromatography Data System (CDS). Method linearity, method detection limit (MDL), precision, and accuracy were assessed to evaluate method performance.
Analysis of volatile organic compounds in drinking water with the ISQ 7610 GC-MS using HeSaver-H2 Safer technology
In this application note, Thermo Fisher Scientific demonstrates a routine analytical method that meets the requirements outlined in US EPA Method 524.4 for the quantitation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in drinking water, using the Teledyne Tekmar Atomx XYZ Purge and Trap (P&T) system along with a Thermo Scientific™ ISQ™ 7610 MS system coupled with a Thermo Scientific™ TRACE™ 1610 gas chromatograph (GC), equipped with the Thermo Scientific™ HeSaver-H2 Safer™ technology for split/splitless (SSL) injector, and Thermo Scientific™ Chromeleon™ Chromatography Data System (CDS) software. Method linearity, method detection limit (MDL), precision, and MRL were assessed to evaluate method performance. A long-term study was performed to ensure the stability of this analytical method.
Reducing the helium consumption for analysis of VOCs in accordance with EPA Method 8260D without compromising performance using HeSaver-H2 Safer technology
In this application note, Thermo Fisher Scientific discusses the significance of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The method of choice for analyzing VOCs involves gas chromatography coupled with single quadrupole mass spectrometry using Purge and Trap (P&T) sampling. The HeSaver-H2Safer™ technology offers a solution by significantly reducing helium consumption without compromising performance. The application of this technology in conjunction with gas chromatography and mass spectrometry for the analysis of water and soil samples according to EPA Method 8260D is detailed. The results demonstrate that the HeSaver-H2Safer™ technology allows for minimal method transfer effort while maintaining chromatographic performance across different matrices.
