Sci-Print MP2+ Fully Automated Microplate Labeler

The Sci-Print MP2+ is compatible with a variety of microplates and deep well blocks. The system includes two vertical stackers for loading and unloading of microplates. Plates are loaded into an input stacker, processed at the printing platform, and moved to the output stacker.

As our use of automated equipment has increased, so has the need for consistency and standardization. The Sci-Print MP2+ has been very effective in standardizing our plate labeling. Manual label placement has historically caused missed scans or complete separation of the label from the plate (particularly in a -80C environment). The Sci-Print MP2+ has eliminated these issues. The system is quite easy to use, including customization/label design, and the training that was provided was excellent. It is a robust piece of equipment, we have not encountered any significant malfunctions or issues requiring repair.

Label containers for shipment

Using the MP2+ we are able to automated and increase our throughput from manual labeling one container at a time to automating 50 at a time. We've been able to directly get formatted output from our LIMS for use by the MP2+.

The MP2+ is, on the outset, a very easy to use system. It has shown that there are quite a few tweaks that need to be made to ensure smooth running. It takes attention to use and operate meaning there's little "walkaway" time and many errors.
