The thoughtful design of the new Cole-Parmer® Overhead Mixers provides operators with a full breadth of features for smooth and precise large batch mixing including accurate and dependable motor speed control, various models and features for specific mixing needs, easy maintenance, and safety features to keep the operator and the mixer safe while in use. Users will also appreciate the virtually maintenance-free design with no wear parts that require servicing. These mixers are ideal for use in the laboratory or manufacturing process.

Three models are available, each designed with its own unique features to meet a variety of mixing needs and budgets:

  • Cole-Parmer SD Laboratory Overhead Mixer rotates at 50 to 2500 rpm with a maximum torque of 91 in-oz (64 N·cm) and has a through-shaft capability. The precision digital controller is used to turn on and set the speed, timer, direction of rotation, and torque limits for the mixer motor
  • Cole-Parmer SP Laboratory Overhead Mixer rotates at 50 to 2500 rpm with a maximum torque of 91 in-oz (64 N·cm) and has a through-shaft capability. The variable-speed controller is used to turn on and set the speed and direction of the mixer motor.
  • Cole-Parmer GP Laboratory Overhead Mixer rotates at 40 to 4000 rpm with a maximum torque of 9.5 in-oz (6.7 N·cm). The speed control knob is used to turn on and set the speed of the mixer motor and provides a 100:1 adjustment range. Ideal for light-duty mixing of water-like fluids.

All mixers include the “soft-start” feature and smooth, gradual adjustment to the speed setting. Constant speed is maintained electronically via automatic compensation for changes in load torque demands at both high and low speeds. The built-in motor current compensation minimizes speed drift with changes in load. Motor current limiting protects the system in case of a locked rotor condition. Output circuit protection protects against inadvertent output shorting.

Stuart Variable Speed Vortex Mixer / SA8

Cole-Parmer Instrument Co.

This laboratory vortex mixer allows scientists to control the mixing speed by selecting from 200rpm for more gentle mixing to 2500rpm for vigorous agitation. Choose between `touch' on mode and continuous operation simply by pressing a button. Robust body avoids unnecessary movement during use. The ergonomic low profile design makes everyday vortexing comfortable for the user. Integral retort rod fixing allows vessels to be secured above the vortex action for long-term mixing. Variable speed control between 200 and 2500 rpm Intermittent or continuous mode Stable low profile body Robust die-cast construction

Stuart Orbital Shakers

Cole-Parmer Instrument Co.

These shakers provides a smooth uniform circular motion with an orbit of 16mm. The SSM1 is supplied with a non-slip mat that can hold up to four multi-well plates or diagnostic cards. The SSL1 comes complete with a cradle system, rather than a non slip mat, to comfortably hold flasks. The shakers can be used in incubators and environmental chambers (up to 40°C and 80% humidity). Speed is variable from 30 to 300 rpm. Once set on the digital display, the shaking speed is effectively maintained even over long periods of time. Shaking times can be set to run for 1 to 999 minutes on the built-in digital timer, or the unit can be set for continuous operation. Features: Smooth orbital shaking action Orbit of 16mm is ideal for larger samples, for example multi well plates Built-in digital timer Variable speed control to 300rpm Supplied with non-slip mat for multi-well plates etc. Optional accessory cradle system for flasks and bottles
