Streck launches new MDx-Chex controls for molecular diagnostic assays
18 Aug 2025
Streck is excited to announce the release of the newest additions to the MDx-Chex® line of molecular quality controls. MDx-Chex for Blood Culture Yeast (RUO), MDx-Chex for Blood Culture GP (RUO), and MDx-Chex for Blood Culture GN (RUO) are full-process molecular quality controls designed for comprehensive molecular assay workflow validation.
Each control contains intact, inactivated microorganisms suspended in a stabilized, blood-like matrix of red and white blood cells and blood culture media components, making them ideal for evaluating the entire molecular testing process, from extraction to detection. Supplied in single-use vials, these controls cover multiple microbial targets, pathogens, and antimicrobial resistance markers, helping labs achieve reliable performance, streamlined workflows, and confident results when they matter most.
“This expansion of the MDx-Chex control line showcases our commitment to meet the needs of laboratories that depend on our products,” said Chris Connelly, Director of Business Segment - Molecular. “We’re proud to play a role in the fight against bloodstream infections.”
Streck has also launched three kits for the development of procedures for verification of molecular assay workflows. Blood Culture Yeast Verification Kit (RUO), Blood Culture GP Verification Kit (RUO) and Blood Culture GN Verification Kit (RUO) are designed to verify the performance of molecular testing processes that detect the presence of nucleic acids from various yeasts or bacteria. Supplied in single-use vials, these kits can also be used to train and evaluate operator proficiency.
MDx-Chex for Blood Culture Yeast (RUO), MDx-Chex for Blood Culture GP (RUO), MDx-Chex for Blood Culture GN (RUO), Blood Culture Yeast Verification Kit (RUO), Blood Culture GP Verification Kit (RUO) and Blood Culture GN Verification Kit (RUO) are for Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
