Mitigation of liver toxicity with the Akura Twin Microplate

18 Apr 2024

Liver toxicity refers to the adverse effects or damage caused to the liver due to exposure to certain substances or medications. InSphero explores a high-throughput platform assessing liver toxicity induced by therapeutic bispecific antibodies in co-culture with liver tumors. The Akura Twin™ Microplate utilizes accurate 3D liver microtissues alongside tumor co-culture models to simulate the tumor microenvironment, aiming to identify mitigation strategies for liver damage and evaluate tumor-killing efficacy. Results indicate the potential for this platform to mimic clinical scenarios, aiding in the screening and development of novel immunotherapies.
