Description
The PHERAstar FS is the Gold-standard multidetection microplate reader for HTS and assay development, especially where speed and sensitivity are imperative.
The compact and versatile PHERAstar FS microplate reader is able to perform all leading non-isotopic detection technologies.
Important features of the PHERAstar FS include
• Tandem Technology - Spectrometer / filter based detection
• Ultra fast UV/Vis spectrometer for full absorbance spectra (220 - 1000 nm)
• Fluorescence intensity
• Time-resolved fluorescence
• Fluorescence Polarization
• Luminescence
• Dedicated UV-laser for TR-FRET measurements
• Advanced HTRF® performance
• AlphaScreen® laser
• On-board reagent injection for precise kinetic measurements
• Advanced top and bottom reading
• High-resolution cell layer scanning
• Powerful MARS Data Analysis Software Due to the unique modular optical system, sequential dual excitation, Simultaneous Dual Emission, and ratiometric calculations such as for FRET and BRET, the PHERAstar FS performs all assays with highest speed and accuracy.
BMG LABTECH offers assay optimized and barcoded optic modules for your applications with appropriate filters, mirrors, beamsplitters, dichroics or polarizers incorporated into one hand-held module. Once inserted, the PHERAstar FS automatically selects the proper module for your assay protocol. Never worry about what dichroic, aperture, or filter is installed in your microplate reader.
PHERAstar FS can read 6-3456 well plates with uncompromised sensitivity. Assay flexibility is further enhanced by precise temperature control to 45°C as well as multi-mode shaking capabilities. Automatic Z-height, gain adjustment, and plate mapping as well as the ability to export data in ASCII format complete the package. For HTS automation purposes, the PHERAstar FS is easily integrated into numerous robotic platforms vial DDE or ActiveX interface or it can be equipped with BMG LABTECH's 50 plate Stacker.
From the beginning, BMG LABTECH has understood that automation is a key feature in high-throughput screening and has designed ALL of its microplate reader instrumentation to be easily automated. This is especially an advantage for the ultimate multidetection HTS microplate reader PHERAstar FS. Based on Tandem Technology, the PHERAstar FS high-end plate reader incorporates two technological concepts: an ultra-fast UV/Vis spectrometer for full spectrum absorbance measurements from 220-1000 nm and high-performance assay specific filter-based Optic Modules for all other detection modes.
The PHERAstar FS also features a UV laser dedicated for TR-FRET measurements such as HTRF®, an AlphaScreen® laser, Simultaneous Dual Emission detection, advanced top/bottom reading including high-resolution cell layer scanning, and on-board reagent injection for precision kinetic measurements.
The PHERAstar FS comes with a comprehensive software package including established Reader Control and powerful MARS Data Analysis Software. For rapid mid-throughput plate handling, the 50 microplate capacity Stacker can be added to the PHERAstar FS and all other BMG LABTECH microplate readers. For High-Throughput Screening, the PHERAstar FS can also be controlled through ActiveX or DDE interfaces for easier robotic integration. In order to foster standardization in laboratory automation, BMG LABTECH is also a supporting member of the SilA consortium.

"The PHERAstar FS is an easy to use microplate reader that offers high sensitivity in a rapid manner. Side by side comparison to other microplate readers in the field have shown that the PHERAstar shows significant gains in speed compared to other well based readers, and sensitivity gains. Overall, a good bet for luminescence, fluorescence, and AlphaScreen assays." |

"The BMG Pherastar is very easy to use. The software is user-friendly and intuitive. We have found it very useful for multiple applications over and above what we originally envisaged using the plate reader for. The different settings and features are very varied and we have had a lot of support in developing new techniques." |

"The Pherastar is very easy to use and I find the software intuitive. It can read many different applications with sensitivity (lum, FI, FP, HTRF, Abs)The optic modules are easy to fit although if you are using many different applications in one lab they may need changing often. Support is very good, for bespoke requirements script modes can be written." |
