Zetasizer Nano Series

Description

The Zetasizer Nano series can measure a combination of three of the most important parameters for the colloid and polymer chemist - particle size, zeta potential and molecular weight.

The new technology incorporated in these systems provides unequalled sensitivity and versatility. The patented NIBS optics incorporated into the Nano Z and Nano ZS also allows measurements of samples with little or no dilution.

Particle Size - NIBS technology enables measurements of particles and molecules from 0.6nm to 6 microns.

Zeta Potential - M3-PALS technology enables accurate measurements of zeta potential in aqueous and non-aqueous dispersions.

Molecular Weight - An avalanche-photodiode detector and fibre detection optics give the sensitivity and syability required for absolute molecular weight measurement.

The Zetasizer Nano ZS is the pinnacle of the Malvern Zetasizer Nano series and can measure all three parameters with no performance compromises.

The Nano ZS, Z and ZS90 can all use the unique disposable zeta potential cell to ensure no cross contamination of samples.

All systems are compatible with the MPT-2 autotitrator to enable trend measurements and sample preparation to be automated.

Applications

Proteins, Nonoparticles, emulsions, pigments, toners & liquid inks, waste water treatment and drinking water.

Application Area: particle analysis
Zetasizer Nano Series

"The Malvern instrument provides quality information in analysis of many particles including metals (gold nanoparticles) and polymers. Not only providing size distributions from nanometers to microns, it also reliably analyzes zeta potential giving valuable information on particle charge. It is very easy to use and takes minutes to obtain all information."

Review date: 22 May 2013

Application Area: Particle Sizing/Zeta Potential
Zetasizer Nano Series

"We work with gold nanoparticles and liposomes, therefore require size distributions. We feel the sizing data is fairly reasonable but have had numerous issues with the zeta potential, although we were led to believe we shouldn't have many concerns. The software is not very user friendly. The technicians/reps have been helpful, but we were unable to address the issues. I'm sure all applications would not have similar problems, but be aware it all is fairly hand-wavey."

Zetasizer Nano Series

"Easy to use, software user friendly, just plug in the cell and measure. There is a huge measurement range. However the Zeta cells are expensive."
