Was a bad purchase.
Biochemical messengers in variety of biological samples
Results not reproducible as expected. MassHunter software can be more user-friendly. Over priced especially in South African currency. After sales service also over priced. The system we purchased and was installed gave trouble from the start as if it was not brand new and were used before.

I am very happy with this instrument it has been extremely valuable asset to the lab.
Analyze API's and analyze personal care products
This instrument was very easy to learn and setup. It steps easily through the process of optimizing the MS conditions to maximize the sensitivity. I have used older triple quad LC's and the difference was amazing. The process of tuning and setting up analytical runs was easy. It works well with additional detectors i.e. UV , FLD.

Ultivo presents a transformative approach to LC/TQ and is the newest member of the Agilent Triple Quadrupole family. At the core of Ultivo lie our Triad Technologies (Tt) - Vortex Collision Cell, Cyclone Ion Guide, and VacShield. These innovations afford technicians the sensitivity, robustness, reliability, and performance required for the day-in, day-out challenges of high-throughput sample analysis in the applied markets. “Quant-My-Way” software has been streamlined to emulate your targeted workflows, and system diagnostics alert you in a straightforward manner to items requiring attention. Ultivo is Agilent’s first stackable LC/TQ that eliminates the MS footprint by incorporating the MS into the LC stack. Ultivo lies at the juxtaposition of “unbelievably powerful and remarkably small.”
Features:
- Instrument maintenance downtime is minimized and laboratory efficiency increases with VacShield; it is not necessary to vent the entire vacuum manifold for routine maintenance of the capillary interface.
- The Cyclone Ion Guide compresses the ion beam, resulting in higher ion transmission efficiencies and enhanced data quality.
- The new Vortex Collision Cell provides efficient dissociation of ions in the cell, improved focusing and transmission of ions, and rapid clearance of the cell between mass transitions, thereby allowing for more MRMs/sec, zero crosstalk and greater confidence in results by removing noisy background.
- Smallest footprint of any LC/TQ on the market-price performance per square foot ratio leads to reduced costs and fastest path to achieving ROI.
- Reproducible and reliable assay results in complex sample matrices, 24/7.
- Intuitive operational design – “Quant-My-Way” software follows the customer’s workflow, minimizes the potential for errors, and gets the correct results the first time.
- Smart, self-aware diagnostics ensure optimum uptime and help to drive down maintenance costs.
- Screen, confirm and quantify – Triggered MRM (tMRM) combines fast and sensitive MRM quantification with the generation of a product ion spectrum for compound screening and confirmation.
- Optimized for unparalleled performance and advanced efficiency when paired with Agilent’s market leading portfolio of analytical LC systems.

Multiclass Residue Analysis of Veterinary Drugs in Pork and Hen Eggs Using an Agilent Ultivo Triple Quadrupole LC/MS System
Veterinary drugs, consisting mainly of antimicrobials and hormones, have been widely used to treat or prevent diseases and enhance growth and feed efficiency. There have been world-wide concerns that veterinary drug residues remain in the products of animal origin at the time of consumption that can cause allergic reactions and antibiotic resistance. To protect public health, the US FDA published final rules to regulate antimicrobial drug usage with the Veterinary Feed Directive in June 2015. In this application note discover how the Ulitvo Triple Quadropole LC/MS System can be used to carry out multiclass residue analysis of veterinary drugs in meat products.
Multiresidue Pesticides Screening and Quantitation in Complex Food Matrices Using an Agilent Ultivo Triple Quadrupole LC/MS
This application note describes a UHPLC/MS/MS-based multiresidue method for the determination of more than 250 pesticides and their metabolites in food samples. The method has been applied to the analysis of pesticide residues in complex matrices such as avocado and black tea. Demonstrating that most of the compounds can be accurately quantified below maximum residue limits in matrices with excellent precision.
