Excellent, cutting-edge nucleic acid diagnostics reagents.
Basic research
We are very happy to be working with TwistDx's TwistAmp Basic recombinase polymerase amplification kit. The system provides a unique, rapid-format, single-temperature alternative to PCR for amplification of target DNA for use in molecular diagnostics. The company has been very helpful in answering questions about their products and about helping us advance our research on rapid diagnostics of foodborne pathogens.

Great product we can't do without.
Amplification
Great customer service. TwistDx pellets are a product our scientist can't do without.

Can't use the results. Maybe the wrong application for these reagents.
Isothermal PCR to detect single nucleotide polymorphisms
The product did not work well for the application that I intended. However, it was unclear whether it was the enzyme cocktail or the primer design that was at fault. I was unable to get allele-specific amplification but rather got amplification of both alleles with each set of primers.

Great product. Quick and sensitive.
Microbiology diagnostics
Product is very easy to use. Straight forward and quick. Exactly what we needed. We are using this kit for on field diagnostic purposes and it works most of the time. This kit can be used in lots of interesting ways eg. sybrgreen incorporation to produce naked-eye visualization. We are satisfied with our purchase and would purchase again.

Recombinase Polymerase Amplification: An Isothermal Technique Suitable for a Range of Applications - Evaluation of RPA Volume Tolerance
TwistDx’s proprietary Recombinase Polymerase Amplification (RPA) method addresses many of the challenges faced by PCR methods through a number of benefits, such as the low running temperature. In this application note, RPA performance is demonstrated in reactions established in significantly different total reaction volumes and performed in standard PCR tubes (0.2ml), without oil overlays or any other specialized consumables.
What is Recombinase Polymerase Amplification?
TwistDx’s isothermal nucleic acid amplification technology, recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA), represents a hugely versatile alternative to polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for the development of fast, portable, nucleic acid detection assays. Inherently adaptable to applications as diverse as infectious disease diagnostics and food contamination tests, RPA is ideally suited to field, point-of-care and other settings with minimal resources, and particularly to situations where speed is essential. Easily transportable, user friendly and highly sensitive, RPA is as specific as PCR amplification but is much, much faster. Results are typically generated within 3-10 minutes. And unlike PCR, the RPA reaction doesn’t require thermal or chemical melting, so there’s no need for an expensive thermoycler or any additional equipment or reagents.
