"I was using TaqMan probes before for real-time PCR. In my lab we run lots of q-PCR, so to reduce some of the financial burdens, I am optimizing the Sybr green q-PCR, and found that this product works very well with the given protocol. So now after my optimization experiments are done I am expecting we will be using Sybr green master mix and save some money."

"This is a cheaper, cost-effective master mix for qPCR than many others available. It is easy to use, though I use it at half the volume recommended in the instructional sheet. The clear bottle that it is shipped in is unsuitable for the mix, so I aliquot it upon receipt and use 1 ml at a time-this prevents SYBR degradation due to ambient light exposure. Keep in the dark. "
