SCIEX OS software is the operating system for the X500 series of SCIEX mass spectrometers, incorporating the ability to control, acquire, analyze and manage laboratory data. Conveniently, the software processes data generated by Analyst® and Analyst® TF Software. This advanced capability to analyze data acquired on SCIEX Triple Quad™, QTRAP®, and TripleTOF® instruments as well as on the X500 QTOF systems, complements the SCIEX OS portfolio.
Ultra-Fast Forensic Toxicological Screening and Quantitation under 3 Minutes using SCIEX X500R QTOF System and SCIEX OS 1.0 Software
There has been increasing use of high resolution and accurate mass LC-MS/MS systems for drug screening in forensic toxicological settings. This technical note, presents an ultra-fast forensic toxicological screening method using the new SCIEX X500R QTOF system and SCIEX OS 1.0 software. The LC runtime of this method is 2.5 minutes. Two different non-targeted data acquisition methods were used and compared, both of which yielded data that can be analyzed retrospectively.
Use of X500R QTOF for Monitoring Unexpected Additives in Nutritional Supplements
SCIEX’s X500R QTOF high resolution mass spectrometry system can be used for rapid monitoring of additives in nutritional supplements; after sample injection, a first order mass accuracy number and second order fragmentation spectrum are simultaneously obtained. Currently, over 50 additives can quickly be qualitatively confirmed in this way. Matrix interference in complex matrices can be overcome for specific screening of additives; preprocessing is even simpler and more convenient. The new SCIEX OS software fully integrates instrument control, data collection, data handling, and other processes. The workflow is more intuitive and smarter; this method provides an efficient means for rapid, high-throughput monitoring of nutritional supplements for additives.
Comparative Multi-Supplier Lot Analysis of Trastuzumab using Subunit Analysis on the X500B QTOF System
Routine characterization of biosimilars or batch comparison of manufactured biologic samples is critical to maintain quality for biotherapeutics throughout development and production. The large size and inherent heterogeneity of biologics make these drugs highly complex, requiring robust mass analysis techniques to ensure accuracy in detection of the protein backbone composition as well as the presence of post-translational modifications. Mass spectrometry is a powerful and flexible tool for biotherapeutic characterization with the ability to analyze both large and small molecules with high mass accuracy. This application note demonstrates the use of a fast, reproducible and robust method for biologic subunit analysis on the X500B QTOF system with streamlined and rapid batch processing and product comparison using the BioPharmaView™ software.
X500R QTOF System with SWATH® Acquisition for Pesticide Residue Screening in Fruits and Vegetables
The SCIEX High Resolution Mass Spectrometry X500R QTOF system provides high resolution, high accuracy, high sensitivity and high linearity range scan speeds, making SCIEX SWATH technology not only popular for protein macromolecules but also for small molecule pesticide residue screening. The X500R QTOF system uses newly designed SCIEX OS software to achieve an all-in-one whole process analysis with instrument control, data acquisition and data processing. The software has the built-in SWATH method of setup and powerful automatic deconvolution capabilities. This simple and convenient design meets food safety field use requirements.
Comparative Peptide Mapping between Two Manufacturers of Trastuzumab using the X500B QTOF System
Samples of Trastuzumab from two different manufacturing sources were obtained for comparative analysis using peptide mapping. This analysis illustrates what is required for biosimilar characterization, or for analysis of processing and production alterations that may affect the final product. Presented here are the results of the investigation into the differences between the two batches. Also discussed is the ability of the proposed workflows and technologies to rapidly and simply characterize and quantify differences between batches.
