We're happy with this hood!
Histology for dermatology
This hood has been what we need to help with the formalin fumes. Our grossing tech was having trouble with her eyes from the fumes, but they seem better now. We also wanted a hood that was more quiet, this one has a lower noise volume.

Issues with fumehood initially, but resolved by customer service.
Pharmaceutical compounding
I purchased an Air Science Basic Ductless Fumehood for my new pharmacy to meet the new standards for non-sterile compounding - Level B. I installed my fumehood and then brought in a company to certify the hood. Unfortunately the unit did not pass. AirScience was contacted and they were extremely helpful, they stated they would replace the head unit for no charge as clearly the one I received was defective in some way. It was a bit disappointing that I had spent that much and waited quite awhile for my fumehood to arrive only to have it not function properly. Extremely satisfied with the customer service I received.

Overall works well if a permanent fixture.
Extract aerosol filters
Product is easy to use. Had a slight power problem, but that was with the power cord itself. It is a heavy piece of equipment, so suitable to be installed once and not moved to multiple locations. It is also quite loud, but that is expected. Overall works well if a permanent fixture.

Perfect for how much we use it, which is not a ton.
Paint Booth
We got this ductless fume hood for small painting projects. We don't use it very often so this was the perfect solution for us. I just wish it came with a filter so I wouldn't have had to go hunt one down myself.

Reliable, easy to maintain and feel safe when using product.
We use ample amount of Nitric and Sulfuric acid to decapsulate integrated circuit to analyse die f
The product works so good that when people enter the room where the 2 hoods are they do not realize the open containers of acid. Beside it's easy to maintain ,I feel very safe from being expose to acid fumes.

Will definitely buy another!
Chemical synthesis, polymers, materials processing
The basic fume hood was purchased instead of the costly building duct work modification that would have been required for a traditional hood. The unit is great. It's portability and high functionality make it perfect for getting the needed equipment without the expense. Love it.

Cannabis and Botanical Products: Science, Regulation, and Quality Management
This white paper details the history, modern uses, and regulations of cannabis, marijuana, and general botanical production in the United States and offers methods for improved botanical product quality through specialized equipment. Product quality is directly dependent on a consistent, repeatable manufacturing process. Proper laboratory equipment is an essential component for both repeatability and safety. The ideal equipment for cannabis and botanical applications ensures plant or product isolation, contamination control, and proper air filtration. Specially designed ductless fume hoods capture harmful vapors, fumes, and particulates making them a valuable addition to production procedures.
Ductless versus Ducted Venting Options: The Benefits of a Ductless Laboratory
Air Science® manufactures a complete series of high efficiency ductless fume hoods, ductless workstations, laboratory filtration products, and custom enclosures designed to protect the user, the process and the environment from hazardous vapors, fumes, and particulates. This application note explains the benefits of their ductless fume hoods.
The Use of Colorimetric Tubes to Determine Filter Saturation
Carbon filter monitoring is essential to maintain the safety of personnel using fume hoods on a daily basis. Testing filtered air with colorimetric tubes is an inexpensive and effective method for laboratory personnel to monitor the level of filter saturation in real time. This application note presents Purair advanced fume hoods, with an inter-filter test port specifically designed for sampling tubes.
Fume Hood Fire Testing: Benefits of Metal Substructure
Fume hoods are designed to protect operators, the environment, and equipment from a variety of contaminants. These airborne contaminants are often volatile and highly combustible. With the addition of heat sources such as hot plates and electrical equipment, they can lead to a heightened danger of fire. The following application note presents the Air Science® Purair® Advanced line of fume hoods as a series of high efficiency products designed to protect the user and the environment from hazardous vapors generated on the work surface, and to offer an added measure of fire protection.
Purair Ductless Technology and USP 800 Compliance
Provisions outlined in the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) Chapter 800 (USP 800) outline the best practices to maintain the highest quality standards for the handling of hazardous drugs. These practices promote patient safety, worker safety and environmental protection at all phases of drug handling. This application note discusses the design and construction features of a set of engineering controls, collectively known as containment primary engineering controls (C-PECs), for hazardous drugs in healthcare settings that meet the USP 800 requirements.
The Quest for the Perfect Beer: Laboratory Equipment for Brewery Science
In the quest for the world's best beer, every brewer knows that quality beer begins with the meticulous examination and handling of ingredients, as well as the yeast culture strain. Aseptic techniques create a barrier between the contaminants in the environment and the sterile culture cell, and many brewers create positive pressure enclosures as a simple solution to this problem. This application note presents Air Science laminar flow hoods as high efficiency cabinets, ideally suited for use with non-hazardous contaminants where flexible access to the work zone is required.
Purair Ductless Technology and USP 800 Compliance Creating a better C-PEC
This paper discusses the design and construction features of a set of engineering controls, collectively known as containment primary engineering controls (C-PECs), for hazardous drugs in healthcare settings. Biological safety cabinets and fume hoods in particular will be examined to identify the features that most effectively prevent exposure and meet USP 800 requirements.
