Simplified workflow for special protein testing
Immunology
We recently received the analyzer in our immunology lab. It has a wide variety of tests that could be performed, including serum immunoglobulins and their subclasses, complement fractions. You can test for central nervous system disorders, renal function biomarkers and many others. The apparatus can perform up to 120 tests per hour, it works very quickly, meaning the reports take less time. Overall, it is a high-quality product and it should be an essential part of every modern lab.

I am happy to be able to carry out my work efficiently with quick results.
Free Light kappa Lambda
It produces results faster than previous equipment(Spaplus). The dilution process is performed on the equipment, making it easy for users to use.

Improve experimenter convenience and the reliability of results.
Instrument is used for clinical diagnostics of special proteins in human serum
When using the equipment, it is inconvenient because the operating program cannot be easily accessed and viewed until reexamination. In some cases, the inspection date does not appear when printing data, which can confuse users. Convenient when adding samples. I wish there was a holder that could cover the entire rack where the sample is placed. I think it would be more convenient if the racks attached to the equipment were used in a single row in the future. Having to lift the waste water tank to empty it can cause musculoskeletal disorders, so a connection to the waste water line is necessary. I hope the acceptance criteria for calibration are clearly given. The height of the equipment is high, making it inconvenient to place it on the laboratory table and conduct experiments. We hope that the review of antigen excess will be strengthened and the reliability of results will increase.

Using Optilite for IgG Subclass Testing - my wise decision.
Special Protein Analyzer
My lab has performed IgG subclass testing for a long time. In initial time, I used Mininepth from The Binding Site - a semi-automatic analyzer for the testing before moving to Optilite and I was convinced about its effectiveness absolutely. From now, I have used Optilite for more than 3 years and it can help the workflow in my lab fast, smooth and save time. Note that the analyzer fits your lab if your lab throughput is high. With my lab, at least 20 tests per day can help us keep the balance between the operating cost, reagent cost and profit of the testing. Analyzer: easy to use and maintain. Rarely meet an error regarding hardware and spare part. Reagent: stability time after opening a vial is 3 months, large measurement range. Cleansing chemicals are cheap and trivial.

Improving guideline adherent multiple myeloma diagnostics with primary care provider perspectives
Monday, November 17, at 16:00 GMT | 17:00 CET | 11:00 EST | 8:00 PST
Multiple myeloma (MM) is among the cancers having the longest delay from first symptoms to diagnosis. Patients often initially present to their primary care providers (PCPs) and may visit multiple times before being referred to a specialist. Laboratory testing is pivotal in the diagnostic workup, especially in primary care settings where initial investigations often occur.
The College of American Pathologists (CAP) has published guidelines for the laboratory detection and initial diagnosis of monoclonal gammopathies in 2022. Timely diagnosis has been proven to result in fewer complications and improved patient outcomes. Despite significant advancement in the understanding of MM biology and clear guidelines around diagnostic testing, the status of US PCPs’ understanding of MM diagnostic testing practices remain understudied.
This webinar will share the key findings of a national survey of US PCPs, the first of its kind, assessing the awareness of recommended MM diagnostic workup as well as the current approach to MM diagnosis among US PCPs. We will identify opportunities to improve laboratory test ordering practices and enhance patient care.
Join us to advance your understanding and approach to MM diagnosis.
Key learning objectives:
- Understand the importance of timely and guideline-compliant testing for MM and related plasma cell disorders.
- Assess the current knowledge and practices of US primary care providers (PCPs) regarding MM diagnostic testing and diagnosis.
- Explore how US PCPs are utilizing laboratory services and identify additional support needed to improve testing and patient care.
- Learn practical steps and frameworks to enhance guideline-compliant MM laboratory test ordering practices.
Who should attend?
Laboratory professionals, laboratory directors/decision makers, medical directors, primary care providers, and hematologists/oncologists.

Optimized and proven special protein analysis
Binding Site introduces the Optilite® special protein analyzer, emphasizing its ability to enhance efficiency by saving time and reducing costs. The reliable and compact Optilite system features fully automated dilutions plus unrestricted access for samples and reagents, enabling a streamlined workflow. Unnecessary reagent waste is avoided with wide measuring ranges, large dilution steps, on-board cooling and long open-vial reagent stability. The Optilite offers three unique methods of antigen excess detection and achieves an average throughput of 120 tests per hour regardless of assay mix.
Avoid antigen excess with the Optilite Analyzer
Antigen excess, also known as 'prozone' or 'hook effect', occurs when antigen levels are so high that they hinder antigen-antibody crosslinking. This leads to the formation of smaller immune complexes, causing immunoassays to underestimate high protein concentrations. Binding Site highlights the Optilite® Analyzer and how its software can utilize one of three different antigen excess detection methods when required during assay design. The Optilite features optimized antigen excess protection, preventing falsely low or false negative results and is a reliable and efficient solution for diagnostic testing.
Shaping the future of cancer care
Multiple myeloma is a blood cancer that develops in plasma cells in the bone marrow. Binding Site details how it is working with partners to raise awareness of multiple myeloma, and highlights how early recognition of the symptoms and confirmation of the diagnosis, and early referrals to hematologists and cancer care have the potential to improve the overall survival and quality of life for patients.
