Great Results
Pesticide residue analysis
The service after sales is very good instrument performance is very good. Previously handled TQ8040 that was also very good. Overall satisfactory response.
Review Date: 12 Jul 2022 | Shimadzu Corporation
Great results, very good performance, not so good service from the manufacture
Industrial hygiene
The response from the manufacture when a problem shows up is to slow. Also, is clear that places like Latinoamerica is not an important market for them, is not visible the desire to help you with you issue. However, I must say that quality of their products is very high. The GC software is friendly with the user, is easy to set up all the parameters you need, the performance of the equipment is very very good. The XRD is good but it doesn’t have to many options as other brands and the technical service is not great. Something not to important but still something that personally I like it, is that the esthetics of the equipments…they look beautiful.

Engineered with the analyst in mind, the Nexis GC-2030 incorporates a host of technologically advanced features, resulting in a modernized instrument that improves user connectivity and ease of use, increases throughput, produces superior results, and ultimately yields a higher return on investment.
Key features/benefits include:
• Faster ROI with versatile, expandable configurations – allows for up to three analytical lines for greater productivity or for the versatility of more analyses to be packaged into one GC. A choice of four inlets, six detectors, and specialized valve accessories enables configurations tailored to fit the needs of laboratories.
• Reduced operating costs with Eco mode – optimizes the use of carrier gas such as helium and reduce electricity use when idle
• Improved workflow with touch-panel interface and remote communications – user-friendly interface with intuitive graphic icons ensures easy monitoring of the system’s operating status, while the Ethernet based communication allows the user to remotely connect to the GC via pc or the operator’s mobile device
• Increased productivity with tool-free column installation and inlet maintenance
Further enhancing productivity is LabSolutions workstation software that fully integrates LC and GC functionality. It offers both easy operability and extensive functionality. This includes a new data browser, convenient for comparing multiple sets of data simultaneously, and a Quick-Batch Function that simplifies the tedious process of creating injection sequences.
Solutions for infectious diseases
In this application note, Shimadzu Corporation introduces three analytical instruments to evaluate infectious diseases caused by harmful microorganisms: liquid chromatography-mass spectrometer (LC-MS), matrix assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometer (MALDI-TOF MS), and gas chromatography-mass spectrometer (GC-MS). The note highlights the rise of bacterial infectious diseases in the past 10 years, emphasizing the importance of investigating and examining these infections.
Improved resolution and detection of trace moisture in a siloxane matrix using GC-BID and WaterCol™ 1910 Column
In this application note, Shimadzu demonstrates that its proprietary barrier-discharge ionization (BID) detector, coupled with Supelco’s WaterCol™ 1910 column, can isolate a water peak and quantify moisture at low levels.
Determination of ethanol and isopropanol content in hand sanitizers using nitrogen carrier gas
In this application note, Shimadzu explains how it developed a gas chromatography flame ionization detector (GC FID) method to accurately quantify ethanol and IPA concentrations in two hand sanitizer samples. This application note explains how using nitrogen as the carrier gas is cost-effective and CDC and USP compliant.
Modifying AOAC method 996.06 for FAME analysis in foods: Faster throughput using hydrogen carrier gas
In this application note, Shimadzu explains how using hydrogen as the carrier gas for gas chromatographs instead of helium gas can significantly reduce overhead costs for fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) analysis.
Analysis of Blood Alcohol by Headspace with Simultaneous GC-FID and MS Detection
Every day in America, 29 people die in drunk driving accidents according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. To prevent future incidents and ensure appropriate legal action is taken, forensic laboratories must be able to effectively analyze ethanol in blood samples. One of the most widely used methods is blood alcohol testing.
61/2 Tips to Improve the Speed and Accuracy of Your BTU Analysis
In a fast-paced environment like the midstream sector, it is important to complete your BTU analysis in a quick, efficient manner. And yet, due to the financial implications of this information, your analysis must also be as accurate as it is fast.
Analysis of THC and CBD Content in Hemp Oil Using GC-FID and Hydrogen Carrier Gas
Hemp oil containing beneficial phytocannabionoids such as cannabidiol (CBD) but very low levels of the psychoactive compound tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) has become increasingly popular. For quality control of the product, the level of CBD and THC should be closely monitored. In this report, hemp oil samples were analyzed by the Shimadzu GC-2030 using H2 carrier gas and the concentrations of CBD and THC were determined.
Quantification of Nicotine in Ecigarette Liquid Sample Using GCFID and Hydrogen Carrier Gas
Nicotine content is an important attribute for e-cigarette liquid and can be easily assayed using gas chromatography techniques. In this report, an e-cigarette liquid sample was analyzed by the Shimadzu GC-2030 using H2 carrier gas and the concentration of nicotine was determined. This instrument setup provides an easy and robust system for routine analysis with accurate and precise results.
What’s in your hydrogen? Analytical toolkits for fuel purity analysis
Join us for this dual‑session SelectScience® webinar exploring hydrogen impurity testing and analytical strategies for achieving ISO 14687‑aligned fuel quality. To better suit your schedule and time zone, the webinar will be offered in two separate sessions:
Session 1: 09:00 BST | 10:00 CEST
Session 2: 10:00 PDT | 13:00 EDT | 18:00 BST
As hydrogen scales across energy, transport, and industrial applications, understanding fuel purity is fundamental for compliance, safety, and uptime. At present, only a limited number of instruments are capable of addressing the full hydrogen impurity matrix, meaning that most testing strategies continue to rely on a combination of analytical technologies aligned to the specific production pathway.
In this webinar, Tyler Roberts, Market Manager of Applied Markets at Shimadzu, presents a practical, process‑aware framework for hydrogen impurity testing. He will outline how different analytical technologies contribute to a complete workflow, including:
- System GC for permanent gases, hydrocarbons, and sulfur compounds
- GC‑MS for organic impurity identification and speciation
- Ion chromatography for ammonia and halogenated acids at the lowest required detection limits
- FTIR for rapid multi‑component screening from a single sample
Covering pathways from steam methane reforming (SMR) and electrolysis to ammonia cracking and liquid organic hydrogen carrier (LOHC) systems, this session will guide you in building the analytical foundation for confident hydrogen quality assurance benchmarked against ISO 14687.
