Combining two completely different sets of requirements into one centrifuge: the rotor options of a benchtop Centrifuge with the small footprint of a microcentrifuge. The air cooled Centrifuge 5430 and the refrigerated Centrifuge 5430 R!
The compact design of this 30-place Eppendorf microcentrifuge also performs an impressive range of applications.
Virtually any tube or plate you want to centrifuge can be accommodated in one of the eight rotors of the Microcentrifuge 5430 R: from an Eppendorf Tube at 30,000 × g to MTP plates and slides in the swing bucket rotor, from 15 ml and 50 ml Falcon® tubes in the fixed-angle rotor to blood collection tubes - without changing the rotor, only the corresponding adapters.
"We bought this centrifuge and had used it once when it started giving an electrical error message. It took almost a month to get it functional from this point. Reps from other companies asked why they hadn't swapped it for a new one, they didn't have any available apparently. We weren't impressed that a new instrument had not been tested prior to shipping to the customer. Other than this issue this centrifuge is fine."
