Test set for comparison of Magnet Assisted Transfection versus Magnet Assisted Lipofection. Including a one-month-rent of a universal magnet plate. Optimized for siRNA transfections.
Magnet Assisted Transfection (MATra) is a new, easy-to-handle, very fast and highly efficient technology to transfect cells in culture. Data from a variety of species using cell lines or primary tissue culture have accumulated including human, monkey, mouse, rat, xenopus, pig, cat or fish. Applications range from Neurosciences via Oncology to Hepatology and many more. Using this new technique, nucleic acids are in a first step associated with specific magnetic nanoparticles (MagTag). Exploiting magnetic force the full nucleic acid dose is then drawn towards and delivered into the target cells leading to efficient transfection without disturbing the membrane architecture, without causing chromosomal damage or leaving a hole in the cell membrane like other transfection technologies.
This set includes the reagent MATra-si which is optimized for Magnet Assisted Transfection of siRNA, as well as the MA Lipofection Enhancer. The latter is used for the so-called Magnet Assisted Lipofection. In this case, the MA Lipofection Enhancer is combined with IBA's high-efficiency lipofection reagent IBAfect, or, alternatively, with any other lipofection reagent available in the lab to achieve optimal transfection results. MA Lipofection Enhancer can also be used to enhance viral transfections.
Both technologies can be used with adherent cells as well as with suspension cells. (Suspension cells have to be localized at the bottom of the wells of cell culture plates to take advantage of the magnetic field in an optimal way: use MATra-S Immobilizer or modified culture vessels.) MATra can also be adapted to high-throughput transfection assays using robotic stations and adapted protocols.
If the magnet plate is purchased after a rental phase a certain fee is deducted from the purchase price; please inquire for more details.
