Cheap and flimsy.
Application Area: Agarose gel electrophoresis
"This piece of equipment is cheap junk. Flimsy, power supply controls are awkward, trays are not UV-translucent so you have to remove the gel from the trays to image. Running at higher, although not excessive (e.g. 140V for large/long gel), voltage often melts gels. Casting tray isn't gasketed so always leaks agarose below the tray. Our lab has several similar devices that work well without any of the issues mentioned above, so this particular unit is nothing to write home about."
