"The product is effective. Data are of high quality and results are reproducible. However, the instrument is not easy to use. There are many applications and many possibilities, but it is not simple to navigate through instrument settings. Program used to analyse data is even worse. I like the instrument since I can use it for many different type of experiments. I do not like to time spent on trying to figure out how things work. Customer service is very helpful, but not always available when needed. One day of full training is so not enough...."

"We bought the imaging application of Cytation V and we are very enthusiastic about the software applications and the results. We are glad to know that the upgrades of this software are free for the machine costumers. It is a nice alternative to expensive microscope equipment and very reliable for cell and imaging analysis. We would like to see few applications of the software improved, such as to be able to imaging multiple fields in the same well keeping data analysis of each field separate, creating a sort of heat map as in the multi-reader applications. Anyway, the machine is very good and help me to speed up enormously collection and analysis of data from my experiments."

"I have used BioTek instruments throughout my 10 year career in microbiology. We have used the Cytation 5 for comparing the growth kinetics of a variety of Salmonella strains with high reproducibility. Additionally, we are using the Cytation 5 for various enzymatic assays, as well as for the measurement of a variety of metabolites including NAD(H), NAPD(H), and ATP. The software continues to improve, and the Take3 plate is an absolute gem for measurement of nucleic acids."

Cytation 5 replaces multiple modules and software interfaces, yet is simple to setup and operate.  With up to 60x magnification, the microscopy module provides high-quality cellular and sub-cellular visualization in fluorescence, brightfield, H&E and phase contrast channels.

The multi-mode detection module features BioTek’s patented Hybrid Technology™, which incorporates variable bandwidth monochromator optics and high sensitivity filter-based detection optics for unmatched versatility and performance. Temperature control to 65 °C and shaking, plus available CO2/O2 control and dual reagent injectors optimize conditions for cell-based imaging and detection.

Image capture, data collection and powerful image and data analysis are managed with Gen5™ software, specifically designed for uncomplicated processing of even the most complex assays.
