This popular sized ceramic hotplate stirrer has all the features for general laboratory requirements at an economical price. Using ceramic glass heating surface resistant to most chemicals it can be precisely controlled with an electronic controller from ambient to 450°C.
This heating surface has the ideal property of being easily wiped clean after use. It is also patterned to define the heating zone and this model can safely accommodate a number of smaller containers around the edge of the heated area for gentle simmering. A warning indicator shows when the plate is being heated and another for safety flashes when the tile exceeds 55°C. Ceramic heating has the benefit of rapid warm up times when compared with steel or aluminium mass heating surfaces.
Stirring can be precisely controlled using preset stirring speeds from 100 to 1200rpm usig an optical feedback system. The unit also has the added advantage of smooth startup or changes in speed ensuring that the follower gradually increases or decreases its mixing speed without any delatching problems. The unit is supplied with PTFE stirring rods. The unit has a low profile case designed to ensure spilages do not affect its oepration. The casing is produced from a casting ensuring a long and robust life.
