Ultra-Slim UV Transilluminator Conquers Space
17 Sep 2012

Spectronics Corporation’s Slimline™ Series UV transilluminator is a super space-saver, which makes it very convenient for today’s crowded research laboratories. It measures only 11.5 x 14 x 2.25 inches (29.2 x 35.6 x 5.7 cm), the size of the average laptop, yet it has virtually all the features of larger, more expensive transilluminators.

The Slimline transilluminator delivers a typical peak 312nm intensity of 9,000 µW/cm2 at the filter surface. It’s ideal for visualization and photodocumentation of mini gels. A unique diffusing screen ensures superior light distribution and eliminates confusing light striations caused by the contours of the tubes.

The exclusive LONGLIFE™ filter glass inhibits solarization up to 50 times longer than ordinary filters, thereby extending filter life dramatically and providing much greater brightness during its longer life span. The Slimline transilluminator has a hinged UV-blocking cover, which protects users from UV radiation and shields the glass filter from damage caused by objects dropping on it.

The Slimline UV transilluminator ensures minimal photobleaching, photonicking and photodimerization, because it eliminates transmission of harmful 254nm radiation. Samples last much longer, so analysis is much faster and easier.
