Velocity11, an Agilent Technologies company, has selected LabAutomation 2009 to launch a suite of new products and applications advances to help you increase productivity and decrease costs.

Featuring on Booth 327 - the revolutionary new Direct Drive Robot (DDR) uses configurable Z-travel technology to enable greater stacking of instruments and more functionality in a smaller footprint. Offering high operational precision, reliability and safety the DDR sets a new standard for ease-of-use. One-person, one-touch teaching enables fast and easy configuration. In the teach mode and using the teaching jig the robot can be freely moved to any location, once in the desired position press the button on the end effector. When the light blinks, the position is taught. There is no need to use a pendant to jog the arm into position - therefore less time is spent on repositioning and refining enabling new instruments to be quickly brought under robotic control.

Featuring a host of new features - Velocity11 will also launch its new generation VWorks Automation Control Software. The new version of VWorks is a complete software solution that integrates and controls scheduling for all levels of automation from stand-alone liquid handlers to large integrated systems. VWorks enables life science discovery enterprises to maximise throughput, create quality leads sooner and lower support burden with a single robust and versatile automation platform.

In addition, Velocity11 will be exhibiting several workstations highlighting the BenchCel and Bravo automation platforms demonstrating new application developments in compound management, ADMET and genomics.

As well as experiencing the new products and applications developments - Visitors will have the chance to attend a customer workshop. The workshop will show how the customer has successfully integrated the TETRA 'Jellyfish' Reader onto the Velocity11 BioCel, and developed protocols to allow scheduling of Ca2+ flux assays, utilising VWorks software.

Since 1999, Velocity11 has combined innovative engineering with high standards of quality and customer service, to design and manufacture flexible high-performance automation systems and instruments for applications that include medium to high throughput screening of cell-based and enzyme assays, ELISA, plasmid and sequencing preparation, PCR clean-up, solubility, and more.
