14 Dec 2006

Bruker Biosciences Corporation announced today that it has completed the renaming of its Australian, Bruker Daltonics Pty Ltd company, to Bruker Biosciences Pty Ltd. The newly named company will, from January 1st 2007, include the company’s Bruker Daltonics Mass Spectrometry and Bruker AXS X-Ray analytical business units.

Bruker has been increasingly successful in the Australian market through its Bruker Daltonics Mass Spectrometry business since 2001 and has developed a growing presence in the fields of proteomics, small molecules and clinical solutions research. Its Bruker Daltonics business unit has also just established a demonstration and application laboratory at the Bio21 Institute Business Centre, University of Melbourne.

From January 1st 2007, Bruker Biosciences Pty Ltd. will include in its operations its new Bruker AXS business unit, a leading developer and provider of life science, materials research and industrial X-ray analysis tools which has previously been represented in Australia by its longstanding distributor, Sietronics Pty Ltd. Its new AXS division is being established to take the company forward in the dynamic Australian market with an already established, large installed instrument base and a well-established Bruker-AXS brand name.

Frank Laukien, President and CEO of Bruker Biosciences Corporation, commented, “We continue to implement our expansion plans on a global scale. We are interested in expanding the presence of all our businesses in the rapidly growing Asia Pacific region and we are particularly pleased to see the growth we are achieving in the Australian market.”

“Our expansion of Bruker Daltonics’ business in Australia has yielded excellent results to date and delivered increased service and application support to our customers. Bringing our AXS business into the team further increases our resources and allows us to offer an increasing range of life science and industrial solutions backed by the highest quality support essential to the success of our customers,” commented Clive Seymour, Vice President of Bruker Daltonics Asia Pacific and Managing Director of Bruker Biosciences Pty Ltd.
