ELISA
ELISA, or EIA, assays for the presence of specific proteins using antibody-antigen complexes. An ELISPOT assay, an offshoot of ELISA, generates a count of protein-producing cells. When designing an ELISA consider avidity of antibodies to proteins, non-specific binding, microplates, antibody and enzyme choice, blocking proteins, serums, ELISA readers and software.
