The Corning® Synthemax™ Surface: a Synthetic, Xeno-Free Surface For Long-Term Self-Renewal of hESCs, hMSCs, and hNSCs in Defined Medium
26 Apr 2011

In this application note by Corning, the synthetic, xeno-free surface, Corning® Synthemax™ Surface, is assessed for its ability to support long-term expansion and differentiation of multiple hESC, hMSC and hNSC lines. Following expansion on Synthemax Surface, a stable cell proliferation rate is analysed by measurement of phenotypic markers (Oct4, Tra-1-60, SSEA4), karyotype and pluripotency. After changing medium composition, differentiation to functional cardiomyocytes on the same surface was assessed.
