Techniques to Overcome Bottlenecks in Epigenetics Research

This article discusses the obstacles in bisulfite conversion of DNA for epigenetics research applications and uncovers possible solutions to overcome them. Furthermore, various methods for methylation analysis such as high-resolution melting (HRM®), methylation-specific PCR (MSP), MethyLight PCR, bisulfite sequencing, and Pyrosequencing® are described, and their respective uses and limitations are evaluated.
