The essential oils market is seeing significant growth, and as the prices of these products fluctuates depending on their origin and nature, quality control and counterfeit prevention are important concerns.

The manual analysis of these samples is time consuming and prone to human error. This application note describes a method for characterisation of a range of essential oils from the citrus family using GC-TOF-MS and chemometric data analysis.
