Quantitation of Verapamil in Human Plasma

In this application note the utility of LAESI-MS for fast and direct quantitation of the drug verapamil in minimally processed human plasma is investigated using the Protea LAESI DP-100 system. Three sample sets with varying amounts of verapamil spiked into human plasma were prepared and proteins removed by acetonitrile precipitation. The reproducibility and detection limit of the LAESI DP-1000 in-line with a linear ion trap mass spectrometer was determined.
