Quantitation of Protein Using the Micro-Volume BioSpec-nano Spectrophotometer
6 Nov 2012

In this application note the BioSpec-nano spectrophotometer from Shimadzu demonstrates the ability to quantitatively measure the amount of protein in a sample. Using the 0.2 mm path length and 0.7 mm path length, the detection limits for protein analysis were calculated to be 0.149 mg/mL and 0.018 mg/mL respectively. Protein analysis is commonly carried out in the life sciences laboratories. The need for a rapid and simple analysis tool for protein samples is met with the use of the micro-volume BioSpec-nano. The included software for the BioSpec-nano provides the instrumental capabilities needed for protein analysis in the modern laboratory.
