Overcoming the Crabtree Effect is Critical to Mitochondrial Toxicity Testing

This application note explores the use of highly proliferative tumor-derived immortalized cells for mitochondrial toxicity studies. The effect of the use of mitochondria generated ATP through the use of a non glucose media is monitored. This can be performed by a multiplexed cytotoxicity and ATP detection assay. The results of which are described here.
