Optimized Method Development of Large Volume Injection for GC/MS/MS of Food Pesticides
21 Nov 2012

In this application note the development and optimization of large volume injection (LVI) techniques for trace pesticide analysis in food matrices by GC/MS/MS is discussed. The Agilent Ultra Inert liners with wool and an Agilent J&W HP-5ms Ultra Inert GC column enabled the precise delivery of trace levels of pesticides from 5 µL food extracts in acetonitrile. Compared to hot splitless and cold splitless injections, the optimal LVI method demonstrates lower detection limits and better peak shapes for early eluting compounds.
