IC50 Curves for 4-AP Blockade of Kv1.5 Channels

This application note describes the use of the IonWorks HT Platform with a voltage dependent potassium channel Kv1.5.2. Kv1.5 channels are delayed rectifier channels, meaning that they have slower activation kinetics and very little inactivation when compared to other Kv channels. They are a widely studied channel and a candidate for drug discovery as a target of anti-arrhythmic drugs. IC50 curves were measured for 4-AP blockade of Kv1.5 channels. The results are compared to those obtained using the conventional patch clamp method.
