High Throughput Screening in Parkinson’s Disease
14 July 2011

In this application note from Hamilton the AI.CELLHOST, an automated cell culture robot with an integrated fluorescent imager, is used to reduce the experimental variation in HT-HC screens, thereby increasing the power and reliability to detect subtle biological effects. Assay plates containing shRNA lentivirus were prepared by the robot or by an experienced screener. The cells were differentiated and processed to obtain data about cell viability, neurite outgrowth and protein translocation to the mitochondria. Different measures of variation were calculated using the normalized data.
